He went into the store to buy a pair of sunglasses for his little brother. His little brother was turning 21, and his parents were gifting him a motorcycle. He knew that the perfect gift to complete his brother biker look were a pair of shades. He began looking through the various styles colours in the store, but could not decide on which would be best. She was also in the store trying on different sunglasses but could not decide on which one to buy. He saw her from a distance and their eyes met. He signalled her with a frown that He did not like the one She was trying on. He kept frowning on for most of the shades she tried on and then finally He saw one that looked perfect on her. He gave her a big smile, and She giggled uncontrollably. She asked him with signs if He needed help. He explained He needed help picking out one for his little brother. She helped him pick the perfect one. Suddenly, She got a call and had to leave. He went out to the cashier to pay for the sunglasses, but was informed that She had paid for the sunglasses. She left a note with the cashier that read, “Thank you very much for your help. I suppose your wondering why I paid for the sunglasses. To find out and to let me thank you properly, here is my number… Call me Maybe???....” _______________________________________________ She wore her sunglasses whenever She went out. It rather became her signature look. One day She was rushing to work when She accidentally dropped her sunglasses on the metro. She did not realise until She got off at the platform. When She turned back the train doors had closed. He picked up her sunglasses and saw her heartbroken at the station. She signalled him to take her number down, so that She could pick it up later. He quickly noted it down and assured her that He would return it. The train left the platform, and the following morning She found a box lying at her door step. She opened it to find her lost pair of sunglasses. It had a note that explained that He was in fact a detective at the local precinct and He tracked down her address to get her sunglasses delivered. It also read that if She ever wanted to thank him, She could find him on the same metro at the same time… _______________________________________________ He had been collecting sunglasses since He was a little boy. He would often go up to stores as a child and look at various ones wishing He could buy one or all. Once He was old enough, He ended up into the sunglasses business. It was a small business but it was fruitful one. He also had a wish bowl where everyone who wished to buy a pair but could not afford would wish they got a pair for Christmas. Every year He would pick three lucky people who would get their favourite pair as a gift. She had put in a request on behalf of her little sister; She could have never afford to buy the pair that her sister had fallen in love with. But, She slipped the card into the bowl and waited. On Christmas day, the results were announced at the council meeting, He announced the two names and then said, “This year, a very beautiful story touched my life of two sisters, who wished for a pair of sunglasses designed by me as a Christmas gift. As I know that they both could not afford it for each other I have decided to gift them both the pairs that they each like”…. _______________________________________________

She had been a mug collector ever since She was a teenager. She had all kinds of mugs, from tiny to large and in a variety of colours. Everyone around her wondered how She could possibly collect mugs as a hobby. For her it was much more, She loved the way each one had its own story and journey to her shelf. He had seen her around the office and had started to like her eccentricities. He had casually become friends with her in the office break room but it never went beyond small talk and casual greetings. Everyone around the office knew of how smitten his was. Finally, one day He gathered the courage to ask her out, in the unique way by gifting a mug that said, “Will you go out with me?” And as She read aloud the mug, a tear of joy fell out of her eye… _______________________________________________ He was visiting his favourite café for a quick coffee run when He bumped into her, as She was carrying her mug of hot chocolate to her table. It was a bad accident as the mug broke and as it broke spilling the hot chocolate on her beautiful black coat. He repeatedly apologised and took tissues to wipe it up. Thankfully, it had not fallen on her or it could have caused a bad burn. He offered to buy her a fresh mug of hot chocolate, She refused. He picked up his phone, called his office, and told them He would be in late. He walked up to the counter, bought himself coffee and her hot chocolate and helped her to a couch nearby. They both sat and talked for what seemed like hours about anything and everything. He went in to the washroom and when He returned, She was gone. All She left was a note on a tissue placed below her mug that said, “Sorry, I had to leave. But, who knows we may meet again here, so if you do ever want to meet and talk. Keep this mug and note safe”… _______________________________________________ She poured the hot milk into her favourite mug and sat down for a TV show marathon. It was a cold day outside, and She wanted to stay indoors to stay warm and cosy. She put the mug on the coffee table, and switched on the TV. She was flipping through channels when She was him on one of the local news channels. He was doing a report on the local senior citizen centre. She had seen him around her building, and had always admired his good looks. She loved that He also had a sensitive side as He had been volunteering at the centre since He was a little boy. She began sipping away her milk as He was narrating the story and by the time He finished, her mug was back on the table left half untouched and cold. She vowed in that moment that if She ever saw him, She would without hesitation hug him. And, meet She did the very next week in the elevator. She gathered the courage, and completely catching him off guard embraced him… _______________________________________________ He had been an avid CD collector until the dawn of the USB’s. It was a strange shift for him, He could not understand the hype behind it, He often wished He did not have to upgrade but He did eventually. He recollected the first time He had bought a CD, from her father's store. She was helping her dad at the store when He first saw her. She was just shy of 14, but She was a beautiful girl. He later found that She had recently moved to town and joined his school. He became her friend eventually, and by the time the USB dawn arrived, He had become one of her close friends. He wanted his proposal to her to be extra special, so He bought a special USB. In it, He had loaded all her favourite songs with a special video proclaiming his love. She plugged in the USB wondering what all this was about, and when She saw the play list and fired up the video all She could was smile… _______________________________________________ She had been fighting with him ever since they were kids. He enjoyed driving her crazy with his wacky ideas. By the time they were teenagers, they finally realised that there was something more to their friendship than just their pity fights. She began planning his special birthday surprise to tell her how she felt. All She needed now was a beautiful USB, He had always wanted a large storage one but in a special super hero design. She began a hunt for it. She found that She would have to get it customised, it would take a special trip to another town. Somehow, She convinced her dad and finally got it done. On the day of his birthday, She baked a cake, and since He lived next door, decided to surprise him at exactly 12’oclock. She took the cake, gift, and rang the doorbell. He came half-asleep to the door, and was shocked to see her at his doorstep… _______________________________________________ He had loved the first ever USB He bought, He carried it around everywhere He went. However, one day by mistake He left it on a computer in one of the university labs. She noticed the USB in the slot and decided to find the owner to return it. She checked the USB for any details that could help, and by chance, She found one of his university assignments with his student id number. She emailed him and He responded almost immediately. He asked if She could meet him the following morning, She agreed. The following morning, She was running late for their meeting, and accidentally bumped into him. Luckily, He caught her before she fell, and their eyes spoke more than they could… _____________________________________________________________ She carried her notepad everywhere She went, always noting her thoughts, or lists of things to buy. Everybody wondered why refused to use a cell phone to make these notes rather than a notepad. Only She knew how much it meant to her. She was making notes at her favourite restaurant one evening, about some thoughts She wanted to work on later. But, unfortunately She left her beloved notepad behind on the table as She had to rush home. When She realised what had happened, She called the restaurant asking about it. She was told that the head chef had picked it up. She visited the restaurant the next day to pick up her notepad. She knocked on his door, He asked her to come in. Instantly their eyes met and cupid did the rest. That way the two met over a lost notepad over 17 years ago and as they recited the story to their friends and family at their anniversary party, they were still hopelessly in love as they were back then. _______________________________________________ He had been using notepads since He was a young boy. He had told his fourth grade class how He wanted to be a storyteller. So when the time came to decide on a major it was quite obvious that He chose English Literature. He met her on his first day of college, they were both were heading to their first class when they bumped into each other. To add humour to their first encounter, their notepads in a hurry to get to class exchanged. They only realised at the end of the day, and thankfully, She had written her details, so He gave her a call to fix a time to re-exchange the notepads. They met the following day and by the end of the day connected on different levels. Towards the end of that year, He finally asked her on a date and by the time they graduated, they were inseparable like each one was to their respective notepads. Even now, after 10 years of marriage they often conversed by “mistakenly"” exchanging their notepads… _______________________________________________ She had been dreaming of designing and owning a stationary store. Finally, her dream had come true; it was almost a year since She had started the store. She decided to have a special sale to spread her happiness. People came and went, expressing their admiration for her work as they bought stuff. One evening, He walked in, He was working for the local newspapers magazine, and expressed his interest in interviewing her. She was happy to oblige. By the end of the interview, his notepad was almost over making notes. She asked if She could gift him one of her personal favourite designed notepads, He obviously said no but offered to buy one instead. Almost two years later, She had decided to finally propose to him and through the exact same way that they met through a special notebook… _______________________________________________ |
