She never really celebrated New Year’s Eve, it did not really appeal to her as She lived alone. She lived alone and travelling to her hometown for New Years was too expensive. Nevertheless, She had one small tradition, She would go down in the early evening and buy her favorite lemon ice tea, and come back home and pop some popcorn in the microwave. She would sit on her sofa and enjoy a long TV show binge marathon sipping her cold ice tea and crunching her popcorn. Like every year, She got into the elevator, and headed to the supermarket, but She was stopped by him. He was moving into an apartment on her floor on New Year’s Eve. They began their descent and within a few seconds the lift got stuck. She shrieked with fear, as She had a slight case of cluster phobia, and She unintentionally embraced him. He found her to be a very sweet girl, they began talking and as the clock struck twelve, their hearts had found each other… _____________________________________________________________ He had been planning New Years Eve for weeks, this year He was planning a party at the local senior citizen centre. He had come up with the idea to throw a masquerade ball for the centre during one of his volunteer shifts. He was talking to one of his buddies there who seemed to miss his old days from the army. He quickly began the arrangements, and gathered volunteers and it was all set. He was hoping to see her as well at the ball, and finally ask her for a dance. She had been volunteering as well, but not as often as She worked in a radio station across town. What struck him the most was the fact that She was grounded even though She was a local celebrity. The ball began and He went around the party to make sure all the guests were enjoying themselves. As He was walking towards the DJ to start the final countdown, He saw her enter the ball room dressed in a beautiful red gown looking as radiant as a daisy. He knew that the time was now to make and it had to before the New Year… _____________________________________________________________ She had been dragged by her friend to the office New Year party. She was not a big fan of parties; She preferred spending her free time with a few close friends, or binge watching a good TV show. Everyone in her family thought She was too much of a loner, who could never find love or have friends. But He had always noticed her around the office, the quiet yet smart and beautiful girl who worked even when She was ill. He had spoken to her on office matters a few times, but never really gone beyond that. He was waiting for the right moment to talk to her. He saw her from a distance sitting on their office sofa, looking quite bored. He decided to give her some company. He walked over and said, “Don’t you just hate parties? I swear if boss had not forced me into this, I would totally have loved to do a movie marathon with some popcorn to kick start the New Year. Mind if I keep you company? You seem to be one of the only interesting people here”… _____________________________________________________________

He had always loved Christmas, but this year it was going to be extra special, it would be his first Christmas with her. She had told him that it was going to be extra special as it was their first together. They had been friends for a very long time and then finally She had expressed her feelings to him Valentines Day earlier this year. She had asked him to meet her at their favourite coffee shop for a special surprise. Apparently, She had booked the entire café for the both of them. He walked in and it was like a Christmas dream. Mistletoe, a beautifully decorated tree, with a fire in the background and some hot coco, it was all set so wonderfully He was in a shock. It took him back in time to when He was a kid. She came out from behind the counter, with a few freshly baked ginger bread cookies, and offered him one. He took a bite and almost gushed at how perfect they were. She smiled and said, “My love this only the beginning, each Christmas will be more awesome than this from now”… ____________________________________________________________ She had always looked forward to Christmas because of the Secret Santa game that her group of friends played. She always got excited at the prospect of giving and receiving gifts on any occasions. He had planned ask her out on a date to her through the game, but it was going to be tricky. He had to make sure that He got to be her Secret Santa, so finally after a bit of debate He got to organise the whole game and hence rigged it. He decided to give her a little note in a book, as He knew she loved reading books. He had detailed their friendship and ended with a simple note. It read, “I have known from the moment I met you that you are someone very special. I just want you to give me a chance to show how special you are to me. Meet me for dinner tonight? I promise you won’t regret it”… _____________________________________________________________ He loved spending Christmas with the children at the hospital. Being an IT guy, He barely had time during the year, so for Christmas each year He go out to the hospital dressed as Santa and give out gifts. The kids loved him, and the doctors enjoyed his company. She heard of his little act from a friend, and decided to cover it as Christmas special feature for the magazine. She stopped by the hospital’s children ward and saw him from a distance. As He gave out each present to each little girl and boy, He ho-ho’d a big more, and finally He sat in the middle of the room to tell all the children a story. Once, the story was finished and the doctor came in for his routine rounds, He had to sadly leave. She met him outside the ward and asked if She could interview him. He found her to be a beautiful, smart young lady, He handed her a box of chocolates from his bag and on top of it He wrote, “Santa always wishes to bring smiles to one and all. Call him and He will be right over with a bag full of surprises and whole lot of cheer. Merry Christmas”... _____________________________________________________________ She was all dressed up for an important meeting with a client for a big account for the firm when He spilled water all over her. It was a good thing that She had a few hours to dry up before the actual meeting. He had been in a hurry too; He was headed for his nephew’s ball game in the city when He crashed into her at the metro station. Luckily, He had tissues on him and a spare t-shirt and track pants. He helped her up and helped her to the bathroom to change. As She changed He continued to apologize repeatedly, He offered to take her clothes his friends store to get it dry-cleaned urgently. She came out crying and explained her situation and He wiped her tears, hugged her and the rest was history. Today, as She gently touched her old suit She recalled the day She met the love of her life almost 25 years ago… _______________________________________________ He was all ready for his wedding day in his special suit that She designed for him. She had insisted that She take him shopping for it. He had always loved her choice so He agreed. He gave his suit a one look over and stared back at his reflection in the mirror. He could not believe He was getting married to the prettiest, amazing woman He had ever met in his life. He recalled that Friday evening when He began talking to her after befriending her on a random pen pal site. She seemed to make a striking impression almost instantly. They dated for a long time, and despite their geographical and culture differences, they had made it work. And today, as He walked out the door, He could not wait to spend the rest of his life with her… _______________________________________________ She went into the store to get a tie for her brother’s upcoming wedding. She was excited, as it was her only brothers wedding. She decided to go for something very classy yet chic, but She was unsure. Finally, He decided to help her. He had seen her from a distance while He was shopping for a suit as He had just been promoted. She seemed quite pretty and utterly lost and He decided to help. She was hesitant, but He seemed genuine, so She agreed. Finally, after a few discussions they agreed to a tie they both liked. They had good chemistry and She seemed to enjoy his company. He was quite smitten by her and so when He had to leave unexpectedly He decided to leave a note with the tie that He paid for. It said, “I know your gonna be furious that I paid for this tie, as you’re a lady who values her independence, but I just had to. So I am leaving my number on this note so we can schedule a coffee date so you can scream my ear off about it. I am sure I will be hearing from you soon”… _____________________________________________________________ He had been a tour guide for a few years. Over the years, He had met many people, picked up a few languages and dated a bit. He had met her on one such tour, while He was showing the visitors around the museum. She had then been just appointed a curator there and She made a lasting impression on him. He had known from the moment He saw her, that She was special and He had to friend her. He was friends with her for about a month before He gathered the courage to ask her out. He did in the most adorable way ever, He asked a little boy to go up to her with a bunch of flowers and ask her on his behalf. With that small gesture among others, He made his way into her heart almost five years ago and now He was about to pop the question. And He knew that it had to be done in his own unique touring way… _____________________________________________________________ She had gone on her dream tour after a very bad break-up. She thought her boyfriend was the one but in the end, her now ex turned out to be like every other guy who had cheated on her in the past. She was walking on the deck of the cruise taking in the fresh air when She met him. He had approached breaching the subject of how sea sick He felt and was wondering if She could keep him company. She was sceptical but took a chance and by the end of the trip, they had become the best of friends. They went on to hang out more and more. She had decided that She would confess her feelings for him on aboard another cruise that they would take together. She left the ticket in an envelope on his doorstep. It read, “Three years ago, I was heartbroken and lost. I thought I would find myself on a cruise instead, I found a best friend who I care about so deeply. As a birthday gift, I am taking you on another cruise. Meet me at the pier tomorrow morning, trust me you're gonna love this surprise”… _____________________________________________________________ He was on his world tour with his band. He had opted to go incognito to enjoy the sights like a normal tourist. It worked; He embarked on his journey with the rest of the lot. He had seen her at a distance sitting on the tour bus alone and excited. He decided to strike up a conversation. Little did He know that He would receive a nosebleed shortly. She let him sit they began talking and as She was stretching her arms. She bumped her elbow into his nose. She felt terrible as She passed some tissues on it him. He was taken to the hospital as the bleeding refused to stop. Everyone else went back on the tour but She stayed with him. Shortly after She was granted the permission to visit him. By now, his incognito attire had been removed and She saw that He was one of her sister's favourite musicians. She began by apologizing, and also told him about her sister, and asked if She could do anything to make up for what he did. He answered, “I am glad I bumped into your elbow, I got you to talk to me. Well, I think you could start by letting me take you and your sister out to dinner tomorrow. In addition, tonight, you and your family come watch us live in concert with unlimited backstage access. And before that please stop crying, I forgive you already, just let me enjoy your company a little more…” _____________________________________________________________ This post was inspired by a dear friend and a tour guide Mr. Manish Jadon. She had all the flowers delivered in early in the morning. She silently waited with her flowers for people to arrive to pick up their bouquets. It was one of those holidays when business was on an all time high, She tended to keep the store open late as well. As the clock struck 9 in the morning, customers began to rush in. She handed everyone well. However, He stood out from the crowd. Apparently, his grandpa was one of the war veterans, and every National Day He would go visit him with a bouquet of flowers to brighten up his apartment. He was polite, sweet and kind. He paid her more than needed, but when She opened up one of the notes. She found a little note that said, “Thank you for always picking out the flowers that always make my grandpa smile. He asked you to join us for dinner today. If you would like to, please call me and I’ll let you know where…”
_____________________________________________________________ He had been a fighter jet plane pilot for about a year now. This year on the National Day He had been bestowed with the honour of representing the army at the special air show. He had few weeks to prepare, He was introduced to a little girl who would walk him to his plane that day. Her mother as well joined them in their practice sessions. She always smiled watching her daughter flutter around him. Being a single mom, She had very little moments of joy to see her daughter. He had loved how radiant She was for a daughter of a six-year-old. He decided to surprise the mother-daughter with a special outing after the air show. He gave the little girl a note to give her mother. It read, “I know how difficult it can be to work and be a single mom. I would like to take the both of you to the park for a little picnic on the National Day. I will be waiting for the both of you by my car after the air show”… _____________________________________________________________ She had been one of the few lucky people to host the National Day Parade. She had prepared for it for weeks, closely coordinating with the performers, artists. Finally, the day had arrived; She got ready for her battle with her gear. A bottle of water on her waist, a tiny microphone attached to her hip to help the coordination. She was all set and soon the parade began in full fledge. One of her own favourite artists was to make a surprise visit; She had only met him once as She was not directly involved with his act. However, She was excited to see him perform. He had loved meeting her, and He knew that the National Day parade would be the perfect time to ask her on a date. He began his number and it was a complete hit. At the end, He addressed the crowd thanking them for the love and asked them to help him. He said, “You see there is this girl I really want to go out to dinner with, but I am afraid She is married to her work. Can you people help me out? I really think She is a cute, fun, and adorable girl, and I really like her. You think you guys can give her a shout out to say yes?”…. _____________________________________________________________ |
